On episode 8 of The UK Surf Show, we were lucky enough to chat to Dylan Matthews-Evans, owner and creator of Onion Surf Magazine. Dylan talks openly and freely about why he wanted to start a surf magazine, how he came up with the name and his own experiences and thoughts about the UK surf scene.
Dylan was super chilled, easy going and really passionate. He told us how he came up with the name at uni and how, at the age of 23, he has launched the independent Onion Magazine after his girlfriend, who is a graphic designer, told him to stop talking about it and do it and helped to put it together.
Dylan talks about how special the UK surf scene is from secret spots to Porthleven going off! He also talks about his own surfing experience and how he copes now he lives in London.
Dylan talks so passionately about the surfing community and how he fits running a magazine alongside a full time job and pulling in content from places he never even knew you could surf in the UK.
