Matt manages the North Devon and Somerset RLNI Stations and started his career as a beach life guard and tells us many stories from rescuing 40 people in one shout to turning down drinks with “The Hoff” to go surfing.
Matt shares with us some important information about beach safety including what those coloured flags on the beach mean and what to do if you encounter jelly fish or the infamous weaver fish.
He also gives us the lowdown on the recruitment process to become a beach lifeguard which truly sounds like the perfect job for a surfer.
